Welcome to my website:

As the Solicitor for Charleston and Berkeley Counties, my primary focus is making our neighborhoods safer. My service as a federal prosecutor and my experience as the Chief Deputy Solicitor for the Ninth Judicial Circuit has given me the ability to lead our team in our pursuit of justice. Former Solicitor Hoisington selected me to be his Chief Deputy, his second-in-command overseeing operations in both Charleston and Berkeley Counties. He entrusted me with those responsibilities and duties until his passing of last year. Governor Mark Sanford recognized both my unparalleled experience and proven leadership qualities and appointed me as Solicitor. Shortly thereafter, Senator Glenn McConnell, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary, led the full Senate to unanimously confirm my appointment.

As your Solicitor, my leadership and management style has emphasized innovation, teamwork and better communication. My office has been working with local police and community leaders in creating a more effective and efficient office. I was recently joined by Sheriff Al Cannon, Mount Pleasant Police Chief Harry Sewell, Mayor Harry Hallman, Charleston City Police Chief Greg Mulllen, Mayor Joe Riley and others in stopping what has become a 'revolving door' of violent criminals released on bond only to be re-arrested. I've also created a "Special Victims Unit" to exclusively handle cases involving child victims and vulnerable adults. I've also worked with Charleston County officials thereby ending a "stale-mate" and finally created a Criminal Domestic Violence Court.

Serving as your Solicitor is an opportunity to make it clear that while we as prosecutors work with victims, law enforcement and even with the defense bar, justice is the only master we serve. Much of my drive comes from my parents, who instilled in me a belief in doing what's right, and standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. I want to continue to serve the people of our community and I respectfully ask for your support and your vote.
